Pull a G2 product's aggregate rating, review summary and top pros and cons, plus individual reviews with reviewer job title, company size and vendor responses. The summary is G2's digest, and sorting does not turn it into the verbatim text of every review.
G2 Reviews reads the reviews of one software product on G2, given its product url or slug. Individual reviews carry a title, the text, the reviewer's rating, name, job title and company size, the posting date and any vendor response, and the product as a whole gets an overall rating, a total review count, a review summary and the most-mentioned pros and cons. Product marketers use it to follow what customers praise and criticize, competitive intelligence teams to study a rival's weak spots, and software buyers to check a product before they commit.
Check record_type on each row to see what kind of record it is. aggregate_rating is the product's overall score on a 5-point scale, while rating belongs to one review and comes with its own rating_scale. sort orders reviews by relevance (the default), newest first, or highest rated first.
Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra G2 Reviews endpoint (g2/reviews).
Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to g2 and action to reviews, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- url: Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug.
- Optional parameters:
- sort: Sorts reviews using allowed values: newest, relevance (default), or top_rated. Although accepted across shared object endpoints, passing this parameter does not guarantee that product profile details, vendor pages, or co… (allowed: newest / relevance / top_rated)
- limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 100. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 20)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: record_type, product_slug, url, aggregate_rating, total_reviews, summary_text, top_pros, top_cons, id, title, text, rating; 19 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=g2.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "g2",
"action": "reviews",
"params": {
"url": "https://www.g2.com/products/slack/reviews"
}
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters
| Name | In | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Authorization | header | string | Yes | - | Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository. |
platform | body | string | Yes | g2 | Platform identifier, fixed value. |
action | body | string | Yes | reviews | Capability identifier, fixed value. |
url | body.params | Not declared | Yes | - | Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied. |
sort | body.params | enum | No | - | Sorts reviews using allowed values: newest, relevance (default), or top_rated. Although accepted across shared object endpoints, passing this parameter does not guarantee that product profile details, vendor pages, or comparison lists will change their internal sorting order.Allowed valuesnewestrelevancetop_rated |
limit | body.params | integer (1–100) | No | 20 | The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 100. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. |

Response example
Captured September 26, 2026 at 08:56 (UTC) by calling this API with the parameters in the code sample above. results and count are that call's real response with personal information (names, handles, avatars, profile links, contact details) removed; the list keeps the first 2. id, billing and quota differ on every call, so only their shape is shown.

}Response fields
Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
record_type | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
product_slug | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
url | Link to the record on the platform. |
aggregate_rating | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
total_reviews | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
summary_text | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
top_pros | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
top_cons | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
platform | Source platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok). |
id | The record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms. |
title | Title. null when the platform has no titles (for example text-only posts). |
text | Body text with HTML removed, returned in full and never cut short (on a few platforms the list results themselves carry only an excerpt; the platform's field notes say so). |
rating | Rating. The scale varies by platform: rating_scale on the same row gives the maximum (usually 5; Booking, Douban, iQIYI and NAVER use 10). Convert with rating_scale before comparing across platforms, or the comparison can come out backwards. |
rating_scale | Maximum of rating in the same row: 5 for five-star scales, 10 for ten-point scales. Present only when the row has a rating. |
responses | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
author_name | Author's display name. |
author_job_title | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
author_business_size | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
product_name | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
posted_at | Publish time in ISO 8601, UTC (for example 2026-08-07T12:34:56+00:00). Non-standard strings from the platform are passed through as is, so parse defensively. null means the platform does not disclose it. |
FAQ
What do I pass as url?
The product's G2 link under /products/, such as https://www.g2.com/products/slack/reviews, or just the slug, slack in that example. Vendor and category pages are not product links. If you only know the product's name, find its G2 link with G2 Search first.
Which reviews should I weigh most when choosing software?
Those from companies like yours. author_business_size gives the reviewer's company size, and in B2B buying only reviews from companies of a similar size tell you much. author_job_title shows the reviewer's role, and responses shows how the vendor answers criticism, which says something about its support.
Can I feed G2 reviews to ChatGPT or Claude Code?
Yes. In Claude Code, install the EveryInfra plugin and configure your API key; in ChatGPT, connect EveryInfra over MCP with your API key. Either assistant can then call this capability and read the rows. Keep text, rating, author_business_size and posted_at with each review so the model can group feedback by company size and period.
Errors and billing
- 401
- Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
- 422
- Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
- 402
- Insufficient balance. Top up first.
- 429
- The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
- 503
- Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
- 200 empty
- The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).

- G2: Review Sorting and Pros and Cons ↗
G2 default review sorting accounts for recency and feedback quality, alongside options to sort by newest or star rating. Pros and Cons are platform-aggregated summaries, not individual review bodies. This documentation does not expand the allowed values for this parameter.
