What does each G2 action accept?
Each answer below pairs one callable action with its real inputs. Parameter meanings and allowed values are action-specific; a familiar name does not carry the same meaning across every platform.
Official sources are linked only to clarify the platform term beside them. They do not imply platform authorization or endorsement, and they do not add official-site features to the EveryInfra API contract.

What do the G2 search parameters mean?
Match a keyword against G2's software catalog and see each product's vendor, rating, ten-point score, review count, pricing type, category rank and sponsored flag. Sponsored placements can sit near the top without a higher rating.
keywordRequired- Specifies the search query for discovering software product entries in G2. It matches product catalog entries rather than indexing review body text. Product comparisons, alternatives, and vendor profiles require their respective object identifiers instead.
What do the G2 profile parameters mean?
Open a G2 product page by url or slug and get its description, vendor, ratings, review count, pricing tiers, feature text and screenshots. The profile describes the product, not a reviewer or the vendor company.
urlRequired- Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied.G2: Product Star Ratings and Research Scores — G2 star ratings are converted from likelihood-to-recommend responses, whereas the G2 Score also incorporates satisfaction and market presence data. Product star ratings, 10-point survey responses, and research scores represent distinct metrics. · Checked
What do the G2 reviews parameters mean?
Pull a G2 product's aggregate rating, review summary and top pros and cons, plus individual reviews with reviewer job title, company size and vendor responses. The summary is G2's digest, and sorting does not turn it into the verbatim text of every review.
Full API reference: parameters, code samples, response example and health →urlRequired- Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied.
sortOptional- Sorts reviews using allowed values: newest, relevance (default), or top_rated. Although accepted across shared object endpoints, passing this parameter does not guarantee that product profile details, vendor pages, or comparison lists will change their internal sorting order.Allowed values:
newestrelevancetop_ratedG2: Review Sorting and Pros and Cons — G2 default review sorting accounts for recency and feedback quality, alongside options to sort by newest or star rating. Pros and Cons are platform-aggregated summaries, not individual review bodies. This documentation does not expand the allowed values for this parameter. · Checked
What do the G2 vendor parameters mean?
Look up a G2 vendor page by url for founding year, headquarters, ownership, revenue band, employee count, phone and the products it lists. Revenue and headcount are as published on G2, not audited figures.
urlRequired- Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied.
slugOptional- Specifies the path slug for the target resource: product actions accept the slug following /products/, while vendor accepts the vendor slug following /sellers/. Do not mix slugs across object types. Providing a slug does not waive the required url or category parameters for the given action.
vendorOptional- Specifies either the seller path slug from /sellers/ or a direct vendor page URL. It does not perform a free-text company name search, and vendor action calls must still include the required url parameter.
vendor_urlOptional- Provides the /sellers/<slug> vendor landing page URL as a compatibility input for vendor targeting. It does not replace the required url parameter on the vendor action.
What do the G2 alternatives parameters mean?
Get up to 30 G2 alternatives to the product at url, each with vendor, rating, ten-point score, entry-level price and category rank. Appearing on the list, or ranking high, does not prove feature parity or better value.
urlRequired- Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied.G2: Alternative Product Similarity Criteria — G2 orders alternatives based on shared categories, overlapping category reviews, and user comparison behavior. This indicates candidate similarity rather than feature equivalence or migration success guarantees. · Checked
What do the G2 compare parameters mean?
Compare the G2 products named in slugs on one comparison page, with each product's rating and review count, ratings by dimension and the alternatives the page suggests. Slugs are joined with -vs- into the page path, or pass a ready-made combined_slug instead.
slugsRequired- Specifies an array of product slugs or product URLs for the compare action, which are automatically joined with -vs- to construct the G2 comparison path. This parameter does not execute separate parallel queries or accept vendor names; choose product combinations with existing G2 comparison pages.
combined_slugOptional- Specifies the pre-joined comparison path slug following /compare/ for the compare action, taking precedence over auto-generated slug arrays. It does not accept single vendor-and-product identifiers, and passing an explicit url parameter takes higher precedence.
urlOptional- Specifies the target G2 resource URL or bare slug. For profile, reviews, and alternatives, pass a /products/<slug> URL or product slug; for vendor, pass a /sellers/<slug> URL or seller slug. For compare, passing a full /compare/ URL overrides auto-generated paths, though the required slugs parameter must still be supplied.
What do the G2 category parameters mean?
Browse a G2 software category by its slug or category URL and get ranked products with vendor, ratings, entry-level price, awards and sponsored flag. Product names and keywords are not accepted, and the list does not cover the whole market.
Full API reference: parameters, code samples, response example and health →categoryRequired- Specifies the G2 software category path slug or full /categories/<slug> URL copied directly from a category page. It does not accept product names or free-form keywords, and accepted values are not restricted to predefined example lists.G2: Category-Specific Comparison Boundaries — G2 Scores evaluate products solely within the same category; a single product may receive different scores across different categories. Category ranking cannot be directly extrapolated to cross-category placement. · Checked
How to use the G2 API
- 01Read the public catalog and choose a platform action.
- 02Send the platform, action, and required parameters to POST /api/v1/social.
- 03Handle a synchronous result, or poll the returned job ID when the action runs asynchronously.
- 04Store the structured response fields needed by your application.
curl -X POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social \ -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"platform":"g2","action":"search","params":{"keyword":"<keyword>"}}'
G2 API questions
What can I retrieve with the G2 API?
Set platform to g2. The current catalog lists search, details, reviews, vendor, alternatives, and more. These action names identify different G2 objects or views; they are not interchangeable search modes.
Which input starts a G2 `search` request?
Specifies the search query for discovering software product entries in G2. It matches product catalog entries rather than indexing review body text. Product comparisons, alternatives, and vendor profiles require their respective object identifiers instead. Send it as keyword inside params.
Which fields can G2 `search` return?
Its declared schema includes product_name, reviews_url, description, and vendor_name. A declared field can still be absent from an individual record, and every other action has its own field list.
Does every G2 action return immediately?
Actions labeled asynchronous return a job ID you poll. Every other action can also run asynchronously: add "mode": "async" to the request body to receive a job ID immediately, useful for slow tasks or large limits. The current catalog contains sync delivery.
