What does each Odysee action accept?

Each answer below pairs one callable action with its real inputs. Parameter meanings and allowed values are action-specific; a familiar name does not carry the same meaning across every platform.

Official sources are linked only to clarify the platform term beside them. They do not imply platform authorization or endorsement, and they do not add official-site features to the EveryInfra API contract.

What do the Odysee search parameters mean?

Search Odysee videos by keyword, with title, channel, duration, view and like counts, languages and tags for each result. Nothing is played or downloaded, and the results are not a complete index of the platform.

Full API reference: parameters, code samples, response example and health →
keywordRequired
Specifies the video search query string for the search action. The trending action does not take a keyword parameter. search does not take the sort option used for channel lists.
Odysee: Display Titles Are Distinct from Content URLs — Odysee explicitly distinguishes the Title, URL, and Description of uploaded content, as each serves a different purpose. Search results should preserve original links and titles rather than constructing addresses from titles, and description text does not constitute a full video transcript. · Checked

Odysee: Distinction Between Channel Names and Claim Identifiers — Odysee's naming documentation notes that the portion of a URL following a colon relates to the Claim of a specific channel or content item, requiring full identifiers to distinguish same-name addresses. When extracting channel names, this interface removes that portion; citing this documentation does not imply support for precise Claim queries. · Checked

Sorts content for the user_posts and tag actions. Allowed values are newest (sorts by publish date) and popular (sorts by support amount metrics). Note that popular does not measure total view count or like count.

What do the Odysee tag parameters mean?

tagRequired

Odysee: Content Tags, Control Tags, and Language Settings — Odysee separates topic tags from interaction control tags, and lists content language and copyright licensing as distinct settings. The tags and languages returned by this interface describe only the actual information retrieved; they do not grant uploading, interaction control, translation, or content syndication permissions. · Checked

Odysee API questions

What can I retrieve with the Odysee API?

Set platform to odysee. The current catalog lists search, trending, posts by user, and tag. These action names identify different Odysee objects or views; they are not interchangeable search modes.

Which input starts a Odysee `search` request?

Specifies the video search query string for the search action. The trending action does not take a keyword parameter. search does not take the sort option used for channel lists. Send it as keyword inside params.

Which fields can Odysee `search` return?

Its declared schema includes title, description, channel_name, and channel_id. A declared field can still be absent from an individual record, and every other action has its own field list.

Does every Odysee action return immediately?

Actions labeled asynchronous return a job ID you poll. Every other action can also run asynchronously: add "mode": "async" to the request body to receive a job ID immediately, useful for slow tasks or large limits. The current catalog contains sync delivery.
