- Prices fall into three bands: hand-pump models around $55–65, self-heating electric models around $90–150, and manual lever models from $169 (see the table). The hand-pump Nanopresso has the most ratings.
- Hands-on reviews from 2026 tend to recommend self-heating models for camping and travel because they need no separate kettle. Reviewers who put the shot first recommend manual models such as the Flair 2GO and the Picopresso.1234
- Complaints cluster in two places. Electric models: charging and battery life. They need a charger above 15 W, some stop charging after long storage, and some owners get no water on a full charge. Hand-pump models: pressure and cleaning. Some fail to build pressure, parts are not dishwasher-safe, and cleaning under the screen means removing screws.56789

- The Article 50 transparency duties apply from 2 August 2026. Generative AI systems placed on the market before 2 August 2026 have until 2 December 2026 for machine-readable marking under Article 50(2).12
- The extension comes from Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 of 8 July 2026, which amends the AI Act. EUR-Lex has published the consolidated text of 27 July 2026 that includes it, and the European Parliament's press release states the same condition.345
- What to do: tell people when they are interacting with an AI system; mark generative AI output so it is machine-readable and detectable; and, as a deployer, disclose deepfakes and AI-generated text published to inform the public on matters of public interest. The Commission provides labelling icons.67
- Two things to watch. Search snippets can drop conditions: one law firm's snippet only says watermarking moves to 2 December, while the article limits that to systems on the market before 2 August. The date on a search result is not always the publication date: an article shown as 2026-08-02 was published on 2026-04-09, before the amendment took effect. Follow the official text.8910
- 1Transparency obligations under Article 50 of the AI Act
Article 50 applies from 2 August 2026; providers of systems already on the market comply with the marking duty from 2 December 2026.

- 8Yes, August 2 Still Matters: The EU Approved a High-Risk AI Delay, but Most Transparency Obligations Remain
Law firm analysis: the amendment delays the high-risk regime, while most Article 50 duties still apply on 2 August. Consistent with the official sources.
- 9AI Act rules on high-risk AI delayed as AI Digital Omnibus agreed
The article states that the 2 December extension covers only systems on the market before 2 August 2026; systems placed on the market later must comply on placement. The search snippet cut this condition.
- 10EU AI Act August 2026: your compliance countdown
Published on 2026-04-09, before the amendment took effect, when high-risk duties still counted from 2026-08-02; the search result dated it 2026-08-02.
- Map each paragraph of Article 50 to a product check, such as AI notices in chat interfaces, marking of generated content, and disclosure of deepfakes and public-interest text.
- Record when each generative feature launched: anything live before 2 August needs machine-readable marking by 2 December.
- Use EverySearch read to fetch the EUR-Lex consolidated text and the Commission FAQ and check them paragraph by paragraph; search again before December to confirm the official timeline has not changed.
