Match a keyword against G2's software catalog and see each product's vendor, rating, ten-point score, review count, pricing type, category rank and sponsored flag. Sponsored placements can sit near the top without a higher rating.

G2 Search finds software products on G2 by keyword, such as project management, and returns each one's name, G2 link and reviews link, description, vendor and vendor page, rating with its scale, a ten-point rating, review count, pricing type, entry type, rank in its category, the categories it belongs to, an image, and whether the listing is sponsored. It is where software research on G2 starts: buyers use it to build a shortlist, and vendors and analysts use it to see which products compete for a term and how they are rated.

keyword matches products and categories, not review text. A sponsored listing near the top does not mean a higher score, so read is_sponsored before you take the order as a ranking. To read a product's reviews, pass its G2 link to G2 Reviews, which takes a /products/<slug> address or the bare slug.

Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.

AI prompt

Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.

Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra G2 Search endpoint (g2/search).

Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to g2 and action to search, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
  - keyword: Specifies the search query for discovering software product entries in G2. It matches product catalog entries rather than indexing review body text.
- Optional parameters:
  - limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 50. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 10)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: product_name, url, reviews_url, description, vendor_name, vendor_url, rating, rating_scale, rating_out_of_ten, review_count, pricing_type, item_type; 16 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=g2.
- Example request body:
{
  "platform": "g2",
  "action": "search",
  "params": {
    "keyword": "project management"
  }
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.

Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.

Response fields

Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.

FieldMeaning
product_nameKeeps the platform's own meaning
urlLink to the record on the platform.
reviews_urlKeeps the platform's own meaning
descriptionSummary or description, usually shorter than text.
vendor_nameKeeps the platform's own meaning
vendor_urlKeeps the platform's own meaning
ratingRating. The scale varies by platform: rating_scale on the same row gives the maximum (usually 5; Booking, Douban, iQIYI and NAVER use 10). Convert with rating_scale before comparing across platforms, or the comparison can come out backwards.
rating_scaleMaximum of rating in the same row: 5 for five-star scales, 10 for ten-point scales. Present only when the row has a rating.
rating_out_of_tenKeeps the platform's own meaning
review_countNumber of reviews, for product and business capabilities. null means not disclosed, not 0.

FAQ

What data fields does G2 Search return?

Each result carries product_name, url, reviews_url, description, vendor_name, vendor_url, rating with rating_scale, rating_out_of_ten, review_count, pricing_type, item_type, rank, categories, image_url and is_sponsored. Individual reviews, with their text and reviewer details, are not part of search results; G2 Reviews returns them for one product.

Does a top position mean the highest-rated product?

No. Listings with is_sponsored true are paid placements, and appearing first does not mean they score higher. rank is the product's position within its own category, not its place in your result list. Compare products on rating and review_count instead.

Why are there two different ratings?

rating is read against rating_scale on the same row, while rating_out_of_ten is a ten-point score on a different scale from the five-point overall rating that G2 Reviews returns. Divide each value by its own maximum before you compare products or sources; raw numbers from different scales give misleading rankings.

Errors and billing

401
Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
422
Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
402
Insufficient balance. Top up first.
429
The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
503
Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
200 empty
The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).
