Check a LinkedIn account's audience size from its path in username, with follower, following, post, like and connection counts plus a precision flag for rounded figures such as 500+. It returns totals only, never the list of followers.
LinkedIn Followers reads the audience numbers of one LinkedIn account: follower count, accounts followed, post count, likes and connection count, given the account path in username, such as company/openai for a company page. It returns counts only, never the list of followers. Social media managers, B2B marketers and analysts use it to benchmark company pages against competitors and, called on a schedule, to chart how fast an account's audience grows.
Each number reflects the moment of the call, so store the values with a date if you want a trend. A null count means LinkedIn does not disclose that number, which is not the same as zero. connection_count measures the account's network of connections, a different audience from its followers, and some counts are shown only approximately, which precision flags.
Price $0.56 per 1,000 requests ($0.000556 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra LinkedIn Followers endpoint (linkedin/followers).
Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to linkedin and action to followers, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- username: Specifies the username handle from a LinkedIn /in/ profile path or a full personal profile URL for person_profile, or an account path for followers.
- Optional parameters:
- channel: The followers action accepts an account path input, though the required username parameter takes precedence. This action returns a follower count object and does not export channel member lists.
- Returns one object. Main fields: id, username, url, follower_count, following_count, post_count, like_count, connection_count (Number of connections (person_profile,…), precision.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "linkedin",
"action": "followers",
"params": {
"username": "company/openai"
}
}
- Price: $0.56 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters
| Name | In | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Authorization | header | string | Yes | - | Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository. |
platform | body | string | Yes | linkedin | Platform identifier, fixed value. |
action | body | string | Yes | followers | Capability identifier, fixed value. |
username | body.params | Not declared | Yes | - | Specifies the username handle from a LinkedIn /in/ profile path or a full personal profile URL for person_profile, or an account path for followers. In the followers action, it returns the total follower count rather than a list of followers. |
channel | body.params | Not declared | No | - | The followers action accepts an account path input, though the required username parameter takes precedence. This action returns a follower count object and does not export channel member lists. |

Response example
Captured September 26, 2026 at 08:56 (UTC) by calling this API with the parameters in the code sample above. results and count are that call's real response with personal information (names, handles, avatars, profile links, contact details) removed. id, billing and quota differ on every call, so only their shape is shown.

}Response fields
Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
id | The record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms. |
username | Username (@handle). |
url | Link to the record on the platform. |
follower_count | Followers. null means not disclosed, not 0. |
following_count | Accounts followed. null means not disclosed, not 0. |
post_count | Total posts. null means not disclosed, not 0. |
like_count | Likes. null means the platform or this capability does not disclose it; it is not 0. |
connection_count | Number of connections (person_profile, profile_search). |
precision | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
platform | Source platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok). |
FAQ
Does this return the people who follow an account?
No. It returns numbers, follower_count among them, not a list of followers, and channel does not export members either. To see people at a company, the LinkedIn Employees capability lists a public sample of its employees from the company's short name or page link.
What do I pass as username?
The account path from the LinkedIn link, the part after linkedin.com/, such as company/openai for OpenAI's company page. Copy it from the address bar of the page you want to measure. channel accepts the same path for compatibility, but username is still required and takes priority when both are sent.
What does precision mean?
It marks counts that LinkedIn displays approximately rather than exactly, such as 500+ connections. When a value carries this flag, read the number as a lower bound and store the flag beside it, so later comparisons do not treat a capped figure as an exact one.
Errors and billing
- 401
- Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
- 422
- Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
- 402
- Insufficient balance. Top up first.
- 429
- The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
- 503
- Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
- 200 empty
- The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).

Following allows users to view public content, whereas Connecting establishes a mutual 1st-degree connection. Accordingly, `follower_count` and `connection_count` should be interpreted separately rather than combined into a single network size metric.
