Get up to 200 movers from a preset Yahoo Finance list, day gainers by default, with price, change, percent change, volume, market cap and 52-week range. screener takes uppercase list names covering stocks, crypto, private companies and funds; a list is not a recommendation.

Yahoo Finance Trending reads one of Yahoo Finance's preset market lists, chosen with screener, and returns a row per instrument: ticker, name, price and currency, the change in price and in percent, volume, market capitalization, exchange, price-to-earnings ratio and the 52-week range. Leave screener out and you get the day's top gainers. Traders, newsletter writers and fintech apps use it to see what is moving, seed watchlists and feed daily market summaries.

The lists cover stocks (gainers, losers, most active, most shorted, small caps and growth themes), cryptocurrencies, private companies and funds, and their names must be written in capitals, such as DAY_LOSERS or MOST_ACTIVES. Read currency and exchange on every row instead of assuming one market. change_percent is already a percentage, while change is the move in the price's own currency. None of this is investment advice.

Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.

AI prompt

Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.

Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Yahoo Finance Trending endpoint (yahoo_finance/trending).

Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to yahoo_finance and action to trending, and put the parameters inside params.
- No required parameters.
- Optional parameters:
  - screener: Specifies the uppercase preset list key for the Yahoo Finance trending action. Supported equity screeners include DAY_GAINERS (default), DAY_LOSERS, MOST_ACTIVES, MOST_SHORTED_STOCKS, UNDERVALUED_GROWTH_STOCKS, GROWTH_TE…
  - limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 200. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 10)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: id, symbol, name, price, change, change_percent, volume, market_cap, currency, exchange, pe_ratio, fifty_two_week_range.
- Example request body:
{
  "platform": "yahoo_finance",
  "action": "trending",
  "params": {}
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.

Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.

FAQ

Which lists can I choose with screener?

For stocks: DAY_GAINERS (the default), DAY_LOSERS, MOST_ACTIVES, MOST_SHORTED_STOCKS, UNDERVALUED_GROWTH_STOCKS, GROWTH_TECHNOLOGY_STOCKS, AGGRESSIVE_SMALL_CAPS and SMALL_CAP_GAINERS. Crypto lists include ALL_CRYPTOCURRENCIES_US and MOST_ACTIVES_CRYPTOCURRENCIES, private-company lists include RECENTLY_FUNDED_PRIVATE_COMPANY and MOST_FUNDED_PRIVATE_COMPANY, and fund lists include TOP_MUTUAL_FUNDS and HIGH_YIELD_BOND. Write every name in capitals, exactly as shown.

How should I compare change and change_percent?

change is the price move in the row's own currency and change_percent the same move expressed as a percentage. Rank by change_percent when a list mixes cheap and expensive instruments, because a large absolute move on a high-priced share can be a small one in percentage terms, and check currency before you add up or compare change across rows.

Do I need to pass a ticker?

No. This capability has no required parameter: send nothing to get the day's gainers, or set screener to another list. To dig into a stock you find, pass its symbol to Yahoo Finance Historical prices, News or Options chains, each of which reads one ticker per call.

Errors and billing

401
Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
422
Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
402
Insufficient balance. Top up first.
429
The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
503
Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
200 empty
The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).

    Official guidance states that data delays vary by exchange and that data is strictly for informational purposes. This illustrates the market and freshness boundaries for trending lists; it does not prove that the endpoint lists are real-time or constitute investment advice.
