Scan the options chain for one Yahoo Finance ticker, with calls and puts showing strike, last price, bid, ask, volume, open interest and implied volatility. There is no expiration parameter, so check expiration for the date returned and expiration_dates for the full list.
Yahoo Finance Options chains reads the listed options for one ticker, passed as keyword, and returns the chain as a single object: the symbol, every expiration date in expiration_dates, every strike level in strikes, and the contracts in calls and puts. For each contract you get its contract_symbol, strike, last_price, bid, ask, volume, open_interest, implied_volatility and an in_the_money flag. Options traders, quantitative researchers and fintech developers use it to scan strikes, follow implied volatility and see where open interest builds up.
Pass the ticker exactly as Yahoo Finance writes it, such as AAPL, keeping any market suffix; a company name is not searched. There is no parameter for choosing an expiration, so check expiration to know which date the returned contracts belong to, and treat expiration_dates as the full calendar. last_price is the most recent trade, which on a quiet contract may be old, while bid and ask show where the market stood at the time of the call.
Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Yahoo Finance Options chains endpoint (yahoo_finance/options).
Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to yahoo_finance and action to options, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- keyword: Specifies a single Yahoo Finance ticker symbol (e.g., AAPL) with required exchange suffixes retained. It does not perform full-text company name searches.
- Returns one object. Main fields: contract_symbol, strike, last_price, bid, ask, volume, open_interest, implied_volatility, in_the_money, expiration, symbol, expiration_dates; 15 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=yahoo_finance.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "yahoo_finance",
"action": "options",
"params": {
"keyword": "AAPL"
}
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters
| Name | In | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Authorization | header | string | Yes | - | Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository. |
platform | body | string | Yes | yahoo_finance | Platform identifier, fixed value. |
action | body | string | Yes | options | Capability identifier, fixed value. |
keyword | body.params | Not declared | Yes | - | Specifies a single Yahoo Finance ticker symbol (e.g., AAPL) with required exchange suffixes retained. It does not perform full-text company name searches. The history, financials, news, analyst, and options actions process one ticker per request to retrieve historical market data, financial statements, news items, analyst coverage, or options chains. |

Response example
Captured September 26, 2026 at 08:56 (UTC) by calling this API with the parameters in the code sample above. results and count are that call's real response with personal information (names, handles, avatars, profile links, contact details) removed. id, billing and quota differ on every call, so only their shape is shown.

FAQ
How do I choose an expiration date?
You cannot pick one in the request: the capability takes only keyword, with no expiration selector. The response lists every available expiration in expiration_dates, and expiration shows which date the returned contracts belong to. Store that date with every row, so chains read on different days line up when you compare them.
What should I pass as keyword?
One ticker symbol exactly as it appears on Yahoo Finance, such as AAPL, with its market suffix kept when the symbol has one. Company names are not searched, and each call reads a single ticker. To see the underlying's own quote and fundamentals, pass the same symbol to the Yahoo Finance Search capability.
How do I tell whether a contract trades actively?
Look at volume, the trading volume, and open_interest, the contracts still open, then at the gap between bid and ask. Little volume, low open interest and a wide spread mean last_price may be stale and the contract hard to trade near that price. Treat implied_volatility from such contracts with care when you build a volatility curve.
Errors and billing
- 401
- Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
- 422
- Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
- 402
- Insufficient balance. Top up first.
- 429
- The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
- 503
- Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
- 200 empty
- The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).

Official guidance explains that exchange ticker suffixes and data delays vary, defining data strictly for informational purposes. This explains ticker symbol and market data freshness boundaries; it does not prove that this endpoint supports real-time trading.
