Browse TripAdvisor attractions for a city or named sight, with category, rating, review count, rank among local attractions and address. No tickets are sold, and opening times or accessibility are not guaranteed.
TripAdvisor Attractions finds things to see and do on TripAdvisor by keyword, a city, an area or a named sight, and returns attractions only. Each row gives the attraction's name, its category and description, the visitor rating with the number of reviews behind it, its rank among attractions in the same city, address and coordinates, and any phone, email or website it publishes. Tour operators, destination marketers and travel app builders use it to list a city's leading sights, compare how they are rated and build itineraries.
Add the city to a sight's name, such as Louvre Paris, to keep places with similar names apart; keyword is not a search of review text. category uses TripAdvisor's own taxonomy, not normalized across sites, and lang and currency set the display language and the currency of any prices shown. To read what visitors say about one result, pass its url to TripAdvisor Reviews.
Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra TripAdvisor Attractions endpoint (tripadvisor/attractions).
Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to tripadvisor and action to attractions, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- keyword: Search query string for location lookup. The search action queries across hotels, restaurants, and attractions, while restaurants and attractions restrict search to their respective domain.
- Optional parameters:
- content_type: Filters location photos by source. Allowed values are from_everyone (all photos), from_management (owner uploads), and from_travelers (visitor uploads). (allowed: from_everyone / from_management / from_travelers)
- currency: Currency code for displayed location prices, defaulting to usd (common options include eur, gbp, and cny). The full schema enumeration is preserved, but supported historical codes may not yield active real-time prices. (allowed: aed / afn / all / amd / ars / aud / azn / bam)
- lang: Two-letter language code (such as en or zh) for search, profile, restaurants, and attractions. The reviews action does not take this parameter. (allowed: aa / ab / ae / af / ak / am / an / ar)
- limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 30. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 10)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: id, name, category, url, text, rating, rating_scale, review_count, price_level, ranking, address, city; 21 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=tripadvisor.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "tripadvisor",
"action": "attractions",
"params": {
"keyword": "Tokyo"
}
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters
| Name | In | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Authorization | header | string | Yes | - | Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository. |
platform | body | string | Yes | tripadvisor | Platform identifier, fixed value. |
action | body | string | Yes | attractions | Capability identifier, fixed value. |
keyword | body.params | Not declared | Yes | - | Search query string for location lookup. The search action queries across hotels, restaurants, and attractions, while restaurants and attractions restrict search to their respective domain. Appending a city name helps disambiguate venues with identical names. This parameter does not perform full-text review searches. |
content_type | body.params | enum | No | - | Filters location photos by source. Allowed values are from_everyone (all photos), from_management (owner uploads), and from_travelers (visitor uploads). It does not filter location categories like hotels, restaurants, or attractions; choose the corresponding action to target specific location types.Allowed valuesfrom_everyonefrom_managementfrom_travelers |

}Response fields
Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
id | The record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms. |
name | Name of the object itself, for account, product and business capabilities. |
category | Category name in the platform's own taxonomy, not normalized across platforms. |
url | Link to the record on the platform. |
text | Body text with HTML removed, returned in full and never cut short (on a few platforms the list results themselves carry only an excerpt; the platform's field notes say so). |
rating | Rating. The scale varies by platform: rating_scale on the same row gives the maximum (usually 5; Booking, Douban, iQIYI and NAVER use 10). Convert with rating_scale before comparing across platforms, or the comparison can come out backwards. |
rating_scale | Maximum of rating in the same row: 5 for five-star scales, 10 for ten-point scales. Present only when the row has a rating. |
review_count | Number of reviews, for product and business capabilities. null means not disclosed, not 0. |
price_level | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
ranking | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
address | Full address, passed through as is. |
city | City name in the platform's language, not normalized. |
country | Country or region: a full name or an ISO code depending on the platform, not normalized. |
location | Location description passed through as is; the format varies by platform. |
phone | Contact phone number, passed through without format normalization. |
email | Contact email address, passed through as is. |
website | External website entered by the account or business. |
latitude | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
longitude | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
image_url | Image link. Capabilities with several images may return an image_urls array. |
platform | Source platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok). |
cuisines | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
FAQ
How is this different from TripAdvisor Search?
TripAdvisor Search mixes hotels, restaurants and attractions in one list, while Attractions returns attractions only and TripAdvisor Restaurants returns restaurants only. Use Attractions when you are building a list of sights or activities and do not want to strip hotels and restaurants out of the results afterward.
How should I compare attractions in different cities?
Not by ranking, which places an attraction only among others in its own city, so a top-ten rank in a small town and one in a capital are not comparable. Compare rating, read with rating_scale, and weigh it by review_count, which shows how many visitors the score rests on.
What does content_type change?
Whose photos come with each attraction: from_everyone for all photos, from_management for those the attraction's own team uploaded, or from_travelers for visitor photos. It does not choose the kind of place; this capability returns attractions only, and hotels or restaurants need TripAdvisor Search or Restaurants.
Errors and billing
- 401
- Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
- 422
- Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
- 402
- Insufficient balance. Top up first.
- 429
- The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
- 503
- Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
- 200 empty
- The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).
