Discover SoundCloud playlists and albums for a keyword, with genre, track count, total length, likes, reposts and the creator's name and verification. is_album reflects how the set is presented, not proof of an official release.
SoundCloud Playlist search looks up playlists and albums that match a keyword. Each result carries the title, description, genre, track count, total length, likes, reposts, artwork, publish time and link, plus the creator's name, profile link and verification. Use it to find playlists worth pitching a track to, to map the collections around a genre or mood, or to watch which sets gain traction.
keyword searches playlists only; tracks are found with SoundCloud Search and accounts with SoundCloud User search, even though all three take a keyword. is_album tells albums apart from ordinary playlists. duration_sec is the total length in seconds, not milliseconds as on some music platforms, and text is the description in full.
Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.
AI prompt
Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.
Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra SoundCloud Playlist search endpoint (soundcloud/search_playlists).
Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to soundcloud and action to search_playlists, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
- keyword: Specifies the target query string used to discover tracks via search, artists via search_users, or sets via search_playlists. Although shared across endpoints, each action yields distinct entity types.
- Optional parameters:
- limit: The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 50. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. (default: 20)
- Returns a list of records. Main fields of each record: id, title, url, text, genre, track_count, duration_sec, duration_seconds, like_count, repost_count, is_album, artwork_url; 16 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=soundcloud.
- Example request body:
{
"platform": "soundcloud",
"action": "search_playlists",
"params": {
"keyword": "coffee"
}
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.
Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.Request parameters
| Name | In | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Authorization | header | string | Yes | - | Bearer followed by your API key. Create it in the console; never put it in a URL or a code repository. |
platform | body | string | Yes | soundcloud | Platform identifier, fixed value. |
action | body | string | Yes | search_playlists | Capability identifier, fixed value. |
keyword | body.params | Not declared | Yes | - | Specifies the target query string used to discover tracks via search, artists via search_users, or sets via search_playlists. Although shared across endpoints, each action yields distinct entity types. On the playlist action, this parameter serves as a fallback search term only when a full /sets/ URL is missing, which does not guarantee an exact playlist match. |
limit | body.params | integer (1–50) | No | 20 | The most rows to return in this call, an integer from 1 to 50. The default applies when you leave it out, and a call can return fewer rows. Larger values return 422 before any charge. |

Response example
Captured September 26, 2026 at 08:56 (UTC) by calling this API with the parameters in the code sample above. results and count are that call's real response with personal information (names, handles, avatars, profile links, contact details) removed; the list keeps the first 2. id, billing and quota differ on every call, so only their shape is shown.

}Response fields
Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
id | The record's unique ID on the platform. Unique only within one platform; IDs can repeat across platforms. |
title | Title. null when the platform has no titles (for example text-only posts). |
url | Link to the record on the platform. |
text | Body text with HTML removed, returned in full and never cut short (on a few platforms the list results themselves carry only an excerpt; the platform's field notes say so). |
genre | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
track_count | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
duration_sec | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
duration_seconds | Duration in seconds. null for content that is not video or audio. |
like_count | Likes. null means the platform or this capability does not disclose it; it is not 0. |
repost_count | Reposts (as distinct from quote posts). null means not disclosed. |
is_album | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
artwork_url | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
artist_name | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
artist_url | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
artist_verified | Keeps the platform's own meaning |
posted_at | Publish time in ISO 8601, UTC (for example 2026-08-07T12:34:56+00:00). Non-standard strings from the platform are passed through as is, so parse defensively. null means the platform does not disclose it. |
platform | Source platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok). |
FAQ
How do I tell albums from playlists?
Check is_album: true means the set is published as an album, false means it is a playlist. Pair it with artist_verified when you want official releases from verified artists rather than collections anyone can assemble.
Who made a playlist, and how do I learn more about them?
artist_name and artist_url identify the account that published it, and artist_verified shows whether SoundCloud verified that account. Pass artist_url to SoundCloud Artist details to read the creator's followers, track count and location.
How do I find the most popular playlists for a genre?
Search the genre or mood as keyword, then rank the rows by like_count and repost_count; a repost carries a playlist to the reposter's followers, so reposts show how far it spreads. genre gives each set's genre label, useful for dropping off-topic results.
Errors and billing
- 401
- Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
- 422
- Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
- 402
- Insufficient balance. Top up first.
- 429
- The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
- 503
- Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
- 200 empty
- The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).

- SoundCloud: Playlist, Album, and Track Ownership Boundaries ↗
Official SoundCloud documentation specifies that playlists are collections of a user's own or third-party tracks and can be formatted as albums or sets. Consequently, a collection creator is not necessarily the author of every constituent track. This endpoint returns collection summaries and does not replicate official playlist editing features.
