Gab Details API

API health

Health data cannot be read right now, so this API's recent state is unknown. That does not mean it is down.

Look up a Gab account by handle or profile URL and get display name, bio, follower, following and post counts, verification, Pro status and join date. is_pro and is_verified are separate signals, and neither confirms identity on its own.

Gab Details reads the public profile of one Gab account and returns a single record: user_id, username, display name, bio, profile link, follower, following and post counts, verification, Gab Pro membership, avatar and header images, and the account's creation date. Researchers who study alternative social networks, journalists checking an account before quoting it, and trust and safety teams use it to establish who an account is, how large its following is and how long it has existed.

username takes the account name without the @, or the full profile link. It is a lookup of one known account, not a search, so a display name or a person's real name will not find anyone. display_name can differ from the username, and a null count means Gab did not disclose that number, which is different from zero.

Price $1.39 per 1,000 requests ($0.001389 per call). Failed calls and empty results are not charged. Synchronous. For slow jobs add "mode": "async" to the body, take the job_id and poll.

AI prompt

Paste this into your AI assistant. It already holds this endpoint's parameters, response fields and an example request, so the assistant can ask what you need and then write the scraper.

Please help me write a data collection script with the EveryInfra Gab Details endpoint (gab/profile).

Endpoint contract:
- Request: POST https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social with the header Authorization: Bearer <API key>. Read the key from the EVERYINFRA_API_KEY environment variable and never hard-code it.
- In the request body, set platform to gab and action to profile, and put the parameters inside params.
- Required parameters:
  - username: A Gab account handle without @, or a full gab.com/<username> profile URL.
- Returns one object. Main fields: user_id, username, display_name, bio, url, follower_count, following_count, post_count, is_verified, is_pro, avatar_url, header_url; 13 fields in total, full list at https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/social/catalog?platform=gab.
- Example request body:
{
  "platform": "gab",
  "action": "profile",
  "params": {
    "username": "<GAB_USERNAME>"
  }
}
- Price: $1.39 per 1,000 requests; failed and empty results are not charged.
- For dozens or hundreds of targets, add "mode": "async" to the body: you get a job_id at once and poll GET https://api.everyinfra.com/api/v1/jobs/{job_id} for the result.
- On 422, fix the request using the suggested parameter names and allowed values in the error; on 429 or 503, wait for Retry-After and try again.

Before writing code, ask me which targets I need, how many, which fields, and what output format I want; then confirm the plan and the rough cost with me.

Response fields

Business data is in results. The table lists the fields a record can contain; values the platform does not show are never made up.

FieldMeaning
user_idUser's unique ID on the platform.
usernameUsername (@handle).
display_nameDisplay name; can differ from username.
bioProfile bio written by the account; may contain line breaks and emoji.
urlLink to the record on the platform.
follower_countFollowers. null means not disclosed, not 0.
following_countAccounts followed. null means not disclosed, not 0.
post_countTotal posts. null means not disclosed, not 0.
is_verifiedWhether the platform verified the account. null means it cannot be determined.
is_proKeeps the platform's own meaning
avatar_urlAvatar image link. Some platforms return sized CDN links that can expire.
header_urlKeeps the platform's own meaning
created_atCreation time, same format as posted_at.
platformSource platform identifier, the same as platform in the request (for example xiaohongshu, tiktok).

FAQ

How do I look up a Gab account through the API?

Call Gab Details with the account name in username, written without the @ exactly as it appears in the profile link, or pass the full profile URL, such as https://gab.com/<name>. Copy the name from the link, since the name in the profile header is the display name, a different field.

How can I tell how active an account is?

Divide post_count by the time since created_at to get an average posting rate, then read its public posts with the Gab Posts by user capability, which takes the same username. A null post_count is undisclosed, so it cannot go into the rate.

What do is_pro and is_verified mean?

is_pro is true when the account is a Gab Pro member. is_verified is true when Gab has verified the account and null when that cannot be determined, which differs from false. Neither flag measures reach; read follower_count for that.

Errors and billing

401
Missing or invalid key. Authentication runs before parameter checks, so unauthenticated requests never see the parameter schema.
422
Wrong parameter name or value. The error lists the parameters and allowed values this capability accepts and the closest match; it happens before any charge.
402
Insufficient balance. Top up first.
429
The account's per-minute request limit was reached (all of its API keys count together; a key's own lower limit applies first). Wait for Retry-After and try again; a rate package in the console raises the limit.
503
Could not complete right now. Any charge for the call goes back to your balance automatically, and the billing receipt in the response states the actual outcome, including when it is not yet known. Do not resend blindly.
200 empty
The request completed without data and is not charged (billing.reason = empty_result_refunded).
